The Virginia Tech Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) was established in 1948 to receive, manage, and disburse private gifts in support of Virginia Tech programs. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation governed by its board of directors. The Foundation serves the university by generating funding from private sources and aggressively managing its assets to provide funding which supplements state appropriations. The Foundation provides additional operating support to colleges and departments, assists in the funding of major building projects, and provides seed capital for new university initiatives.
Assist Accounts Payable Supervisor in the daily review of disbursements processed by Fiscal Technicians; process monthly and quarterly repetitive payments; process ACH and wire payments; establish and maintain accurate vendor records; check run processing; assist with the annual 1099 process; clerical, filing and phone responsibilities; completes special projects as assigned.
Associates degree or equivalent level training and/or experience in accounting or a related field required. Candidates should have experience with accounts payable; fundamental knowledge of W-9 and 1099 processing; advanced spreadsheet and data entry skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to handle complex and confidential matters; ability to prioritize and work independently with a high degree of accuracy; strong organizational skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Ellucian Banner Finance.
