The Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center (VTCRC) is a subsidiary of the Virginia Tech Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit corporation that serves the university by generating funding from private sources and aggressively managing its assets. The VTCRC has 36 buildings on 230+ acres of land with 1.2+ million square feet of space. The park is home to over 225 companies currently employing 3,500. The VTCRC has plans to construct 15 additional buildings.
Performs a wide variety of duties to assist the VTCRC facilities team and provide administrative support to the Building and Grounds Superintendent. Manages multiple assignments and projects with a primary objective of optimizing efficiency. Assists with VTCRC facilities operations, performs inspections of assigned VTCRC buildings to ensure quality assurance, safety coordination, and excellent customer service. Reports to the VTCRC Building and Grounds Superintendent.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Candidates should have experience working with vendors to ensure that contractual obligations are met, and in providing administrative and programmatic support. Must be able to interact effectively and professionally with a diverse clientele. Must be detail oriented and have strong computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office. Requires a working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations. Must possess or be able to obtain OSHA certification within 6 months of hire.
